After school, Hannelie completed a discipleship course with YWAM Muizenburg, this is really where the dream was born. She has completed her undergrad in Human Movement Science with option Sport Psychology at the University of Pretoria and thereafter she completed her honors degree in corporate wellness (also at UP) and completed her thesis on leadership development skills in adolescent females. She has 5+ years of coaching experience in the likes of netball and select athletics items such and jumps and running. Hannelie has also completed a short course on trauma counselling for children.
Hannelie has worked on a number of community projects during her time in the corporate sector starting at TuksNetball as Administrator and thereafter at Accelerate Sport, a Cape Town based sports marketing agency. After getting married, starting a family and lockdown, she decided to take the next step to making a long term difference where she currently finds herself and currently dedicates most of her time in Philanthropy.
Initially the netball team was birthed through Hoopstad Sport Academy, that assisted to get the team off the ground, but split shortly after and so Hoopstad Netball was brought into being.

- It is our mission to enable members to qualify for tertiary education and then to step into their calling from a young age.

Goals & Objectives
Within the next 5 years we aim to
- be able to provide each player with items such as team water bottles, team kit, warm up and practice clothing in order to bring a sense of unity and belonging within the team.
- We aim to provide each players with a sandwich, water and performance rewards at every practice.
- We aim to be able to assist with any other items not just netball related but also school related. This includes and are not limited to netball shoes that provide protection, practice gear that are in good condition, organizing netball matches and enter leagues. Provide safe transport to and from games or coaching clinics.
- We hope to built strong long term relationships to be able to trust one another by the time they get to tertiary learning experiences and provide the funding to do so if needed.
- The goal would be to set up a successful sponsorship program to ensure players have the opportunity for further studies if they wish to do so.
- Enable players that have gone through the program to be employable and to be self-sufficient post program.
